Polarization-Maintaining Diffractive Elements for Off-Axis Terahertz Digital Holography

Abstract Off-axis digital holography in the terahertz waves allows three-dimensional visualizations of optically opaque volumetric objects a single exposure and with angular separation zero-order component. Forming tilted reference beam usually requires set mirrors, which can disturb polarization, causing loss contrast fringes at detector. Here we present mirror-less approach 3D-printed transmissive diffractive optical elements, providing unaltered polarization successful holographic measurements 0.1 THz without any pre- or postprocessing interference fringes.
